Linnie Jeffers Young, 80, of Oneida, passed away Wednesday evening, January 23, 1985, at the Scott County Hospital following a lingering illness. Mrs. Young was the daughter of the late John Jeffers and the late Martha Ann Sexton Jeffers and was also preceded in death by her husband, Victor H. Young; one daughter, Ruby Roy; one granddaughter, Diana (Sissy) Roy; two sisters: Lillie Duncan and Mertie Perkins; and five brothers: Leon, Milford, Mack, Isham, and Wolford Jeffers. She was a member of the Paint Rock Baptist Church. She is survived by two sisters: Lettie Duncan of the Paint Rock community, and Mrs. Vernon (Printy) Yancey of Stearns, Ky.; three brothers: Vernon and James C. Jeffers, both of Oneida, and Dester C. Jeffers of Cincinnati, O.; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Paint Rock Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 26, with Rev. Charles Goad and Rev. Roger Cecil officiating. Rev. Charles Goad and the Paint Rock Baptist Church Choir sang. Burial followed in the Paint Rock Memorial Cemetery in the Paint Rock community. Pallbearers were: Arnold H. Duncan, Delbert Duncan, Ernest P. Duncan, Dennis MGhee, Wayne Seabolt, and Herbert L. Smith. West-Murley Funeral Home in Oneida was in charge of arrangements.
