Lucille D. Akers, daughter of Edwin and Laura (Waloch) Akers was born December 22, 1914 near Milnor, North Dakota. She attended school at both Milnor and Stirum, North Dakota. Lucille was united in marriage to Clifford Buske on January 15, 1941 at Oakes, North Dakota. They made their home and farmed Northeast of Oakes for 35 years. After retiring in 1976, the couple moved into their newly built home in Oakes. Lucille was a homemaker, daycare provider and she also cared for foster children. She was a member of St. Charles's Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society, which she was a group leader for many years. Clifford passed away on March 29, 1985, and Lucille continued to make her home in Oakes. Lucille enjoyed gardening, especially her many flowers. She also enjoyed canning, reading, and working puzzles.

At 95 years of age, Lucille passed away on Friday, September 17, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Society Oakes.

Lucille is survived by her six sons, Clifford Buske Jr., Richard Buske, Curtis Buske, Robert Hanson, Harold Hanson all of Oakes, ND, and Donald (Debbie) Hanson, Prescott Valley, AZ; one sister, LaVerne Burow, Valley City, ND, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Her husband, parents, one sister, Bernice Milkes, and one brother, Merle Akers, preceded her in death.
