On Draft notice he is listed as having blue eyes, light hair (it was auburn like his mothers) & medium height.

1920 census living Inverness with wife & 4 kids. He was a laborer at the Pfster & Vogel Leather co. (Tannery).
In 1930 census Albert, wife & 7 kids. He was a foreman in lumber woods.
1940 census Albert (son Herman & daughter Jeannette) are living with Mrs. Brill widow with 5 children. He is a farm worker there.
Funeral services for Albert J. Gouine, 81 Levering who died Saturday at Lockwood-MacDonald Hospital, were to be held this morning from St. Charles Church in Cheboygan. Mr. Gouine was born on December 16, 1888 at Cheboygan. In his early years he was employed as a mason and later worked as a lumberjack. Survivors include three daughters, Laura M. Gouine, Mayville, Mrs. Clara Haske, Petoskey and Mrs. Donald (Jeanette) David, Grand Rapids; three sons, Herman, Levering, Edmund, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Raymond, Vassar; three stepdaughters and four stepsons; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Philpert Gouine of Cheboygan and three sisters, Mrs. Clara Keeler, Grosse Point, Mrs. Henry Sova, Cheboygan and Mrs. Dena Odette, Wyandotte.
