We were told that Georgiana was 16 years old in the first picture of her. She spoke very little English.
One story I was told is that she and her daughters were working in the field picking vegetables on their farm. A traveling sales man pulled up in his wagon. He spoke in English to one of the girls , her mother ask her what he said. They lied and told her that the sales man admired her back side as she was bending over to pick the vegetables. She was enrage and went after the poor guy with her hoe. He had no idea what was going on. It seems that they did this quite often to their mother.
I was also told that they like to sing around the dinner table while the food that was being served. Georgiana had a good voice and sang at the wedding of her grandson Isreal (Pete) Gouin (son of Philbert) plus many other weddings & parties.
