Mrs. Susanna Manges, widow of Josiah Manges, died at the home of her son, Burton Manges at Imler, of complications due to advanced age.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin F. Bender and was born at Fishertown 86 years ago.
She is survived by three daughters and five sons: Mrs. Minnie Crissman, Johnstown; Daniel and Walter of Akron, Ohio; Frank of Reynoldsville; Joseph of Bedford; Mrs. Pearl Anderson of Loysburg; Mrs. Laura Claycomb of Windber; and Burton, at whose home she died.
Two brothers and two sisters survive: Mrs. Barbra Shaffer and Mrs. Miriam Wonder, T.J. Bender of Reynoldsville and Sigel Bender of Cessna.
Funeral Services were conducted last Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the sons home in Imler. Rev. C.E. Berkey of Newry, officiating.
Interment at Fishertown Cemetery.
NOTE: SEP 24, 2010: She is not buried at the same plots with her husband Josiah and son Nicholas (Nickles). I looked near them since they are buried next to each other but she is not there.
UPDATED NOTE: from AMANDA SMITH: MAY 23,2016 : I was at the cemetery and I noticed that the ground looked weird in one spot within the plot of her husband and son, I dug about 2 inches down and uncovered her headstone!!!!!!!!
