Mrs. Dora Pelkey Dies at 75
CANTON--Mrs. Dora Castle Pelkey, 75, Mechanic St., widow of Floyd Pelkey, died Sunday morning in Ogdensburg following a long illness.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the O'Leary Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Stone, pastor of the Canton Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Canton. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight and Tuesday afternoon and evening.
She is survived by three sons, Archie, Syracuse; Delbert, Riverside, Calif.; Lloyd, Canton; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Born in Hopkinton, Sept. 9, 1895, a daughter of Willard and Ella Durkee Castle, she was educated in local schools and was married to Floyd Pelkey Nov. 20, 1912 in the Canton Methodist Church.
The couple resided all their life on Mechanic St., Canton, where Mr. Pelkey was employed by St. Lawrence University until his retirement in 1957. Mr. Pelkey died on Jan. 16, 1962.
