The entire community was saddened by the untimely death of one of Canadian’s popular young people.
Mrs. Clarence BRIGGS, Verna May McCLURE, passed away at the local hospital on April 29, 1941. Only 19 years of age, she had spent her entire life in Canadian, and leaves to mourn her death: an infant son; another son two years of age; her husband; her mother, Mrs. Henry PHILLIPS; her father, John McCLURE; one sister in Michigan; and a host of friends.
Verna Mae’s funeral was held at the Christian church.
