Funeral services for Weldon T. Featherston, 63, of Brownsboro are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday in the Carroll-Lehr Memory Chapel in Athens, with the Revs. Billy Watson and Eddie Adkinson officiating. Burial will be in Ash cemetery near Athens.
Mr. Featherston died Wednesday in a Dallas hospital after an extended illness.
Born October 10, 1920 in Brownsboro, he was a resident of Henderson county all his life. He was a former Commissioner in Henderson county for twelve years, a rancher and a member of Faith Baptist church of Brownsboro. A veteran of WWII, he served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Evelyn Featherston of Brownsboro; two sons, Thomas Wayne Featherston of Brownsboro and Michael DeWayne Featherston of Dallas; six brothers, Sidney Featherston of Tyler, Vernon, Louis, E.C. "Pete" and Billy Featherston all of Brownsboro, and R.H. Featherston of Kemp; four sisters, Tabitha Perry of Brownsboro, Mozell Blackledge of Mesquite, Cleo Palmer of Tyler and Martha Willingham of LaRue; two grand-daughters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Parker, Herman Mayfield, Joe B. Fulgham, Jeff Fulgham, Selman Parker and Virgil Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Parker and Emerson Chapman.
