Mr. Featherston died Sat morning in Tyler hospital. He was born Nov 2, 1914, in Brownsboro to the late Thomas Alexander and Alice Green Featherston. He lived in Brownsboro most of his life and was a foreman for Cotton Belt Railroad for 32 yreas. He was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church, Brownsboro.
He was proceded in death by his first wife, Evie Beatrice Ewing Featherston, in 1988, and son Modon Featherston, 1986.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Dickens Featherston, Brownsboro, sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Johnnie Featherston, Chandler, Robert and Sondra Featherston, Mesquite, and Eddie and Phillis Featherston, Tyler; daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Kenneth Calhoun, Brownsboro, Louise Cooper, Ahtens, and Carolyn and Keith Attaway, Mineola; brothers, Louis Featherston, Chandler, Vernon Featherston, Billy Featherston and Pete Featherston, all of Brownsboro;
sisters, Belle Perry, Brownsboro, Cleo Palmer, Tyler, Mozell Blackledge, Dallas, and Martha Willingham, LaRue; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Dudley Calhoun, Scott Featherston, Tommy Featherston, Wayne Cooper, Rodney Featherston, Rob Featherston, Austin Featherston and Thomas Dickens.
James Stephenson, J.C. Moffiet and Boots McClain will serve as honorary paullbearers.
