Tuesday, November 12, 1968

ADCOCK - Gerald H. Adcock, son of Elmer and Cora Adcock, was born July 16, 1913 near Melrose, Iowa, and departed this life Sunday, November 3, 1968 at his home near Chariton.

He lived his early life in Monroe County where he attended school and in 1928 he moved to Lucas County where he has since made his home.

He was in the armed forces from 1944 to 1946.

He has owned and operated the Adcock Farm Supply in Chariton for the past 33 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian on August 24, 1968, his parents and one sister, Thelma.

Surviving him are two sons, Bill and Everett, two daughters-in-law, Jacklyn and Viola, three grandchildren, all of Chariton. Two sisters, Mabel Gladson of Melrose, Hazel Mason of Chariton, two brothers, Byron Adcock of Indianola and Clem Adcock of Ontario, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was a kind, loving father and was always ready to help a neighbor or a friend in need.

Services were held Wednesday, November 6, 1968 at 2:00 p.m. at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home. The Rev. Everett Hollingshead officiated at the services. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
