GLADSON
Mabel Leona Gladson was born May 31, 1906, in Monroe County, Iowa to Elmer and Cora (Gilbert) Adcock. She died March 26, 1997, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 90.
On March 14, 1936, Mabel was united in marriage to Lloyd A. Gladson in Russell.
Her entire married life was spent in Monroe County, where she and Lloyd were involved in farming. After Lloyd's death in 1973, she moved to Chariton.
Mabel accepted Christ at an early age and attended the Assembly of God Church. She was always faithful to her church and to her Lord.
Mabel was a loving and devoted wife. She was a wonderful cook and so patient. Her house was a place where the nieces and nephews loved to stay.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lloyd; three brothers, Clem, Gerald and Byron; and two sisters, Hazel and Thelma.
Mabel is survived by three sisters-in-law, Mae Fenley and Ida Adcock of Chariton, and Vera Gladson of Lake Ozark, Mo. Also nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 1997 at the Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Kelly officiating. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
