Graveside services for Geraldine Mary Bruns of Sheridan will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, in Green Crest Memorial Park, Sheridan. Viewing will take place and a video history will be shown from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday in Adamson's Sheridan Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bruns died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, in her home. She was 74.
Born May 1, 1934, in Ortonville, Minn., she was the daughter of Antone and Isabelle (Keller) Cordie. Her family moved to the Sheridan area in 1950.
She and Irvin George Bruns were married March 12,1951, in Stevenson, Wash. She liked to say he was her first and only boyfriend.
Mrs. Bruns worked as a waitress for the Bonanza Restaurant in Grand Ronde for many years. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Willamina.
She loved to camp and fish. Her primary love was quilting.
Family members said she was her brother Gene's favorite sister because she had saved him from drowing as a child.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bruns is survived by a son, Dale Bruns of McMinnville; a daughter, Diana Brown of Forest Grove; three brothers, Gene Cordie of Deerwood, Minn., Virgil Cordie of California and Donnie Cordie of Aitkin, Minn.; three sisters, Marie Bauer of St. Cloud, Minn., Joyce Lawrence of Minnesota and Rosie Levens of Flippin, Ark.; six grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
