Largely attended funeral services for James Homer Adcock, well known and highly respected citizen of Monroe, were held Wednesday afternoon, April 10, at Mt. Paron Church with elder Walter Allen, elder M. M.Morton and Elder Albert Moss officiating.
Burial was in church cemetery with Williams & Smith Funeral Home, Inc. in charge of arrangements.
George D. Adcock, Floyd Adcock, Kenneth Richardson, Joe Richardson, Leon Queen, Mell Hester, grandsons of the deceased served as pallbearers.
Mr. Adcock, who died Tuesday, April 9, at age 83, was a native of Walton County, the son of the late Marnch and Anna Malcom Adcock. He was a faithful member of Mt. Paron
Primitive Baptist Church for 48 years, joining Sept. 5, 1915.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella Studdard Adcock; eight children, Mrs. John Mitchell,Atlanta; Mrs. Melvin Hester, Mrs. Paulie Richardson, Mrs. Edmond Queen, Mrs. Jim Braswell, Marshall Adcock and Julius P. Adcock, all of Monroe; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Haulk and Mrs. Jessie Peters, Madison; Mrs. George Willard, Cordele;
one brother, George C. Adcock, Monroe; 20 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
