JAMES R. KING Killed in Action
Mrs. Logan King of Douglass recently received word that her son PFC James R. King was missing in action and has been notified by the War Department that he was killed July 19, 1944 while serving his country in France.
PFC King was inducted into the Army Sept. 1942 and left for overseas duty in May 1944. Prior to that time, he was a farmer in Douglass.
He is survived by his mother, 5 brothers, PFC Joe M. King of New Jersey, G. L. King serving in the Navy in Virginia, Clifford and Cloyce King of Douglass. PFC King is the grandson of Mr. Joe Minton of Lufkin and nephew of Cpl Frank C. Minton, serving somewhere in Italy.
