CLARA ALICE CHASE, 73, died Monday, November 1, 1999, at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
A private family burial will be held at a later date at Dillavou Cemetery, Scranton, Ia.
Turner Funeral Home of Spirit Lake handled arrangements.
The daughter of Benjamin and Emily (Waldo) Chase, she was born February 21, 1926, at Scranton, Ia. She graduated from high school at Jefferson, Ia.
She married Wayne Davis in 1944, She spent her working life as a chef, mostly in Petersburg, Alaska, where she worked in the restaurants and fishing camps. She returned to Iowa in 1995 due to ill health.
Mrs. Chase was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her children: Glenn, Scott, Charles, Bonnie, and Nancy; her niece, Martha Isaacson of Akeley, Minn.;and her special friends, Suzy Tuell , Jordan Knutson and Joanne Wolbert, all of Spirit Lake, Ia.
Clara enjoyed reading, cooking and writing poetry.
