CORBETT, Arlie Andrew Sr., 82, of Troutville, died Sunday, April 15, 2001 in a local hospital. He was the son of the late Charles Amos and Carrie Luvenia Kelley Corbett. A native of Highland County, Va. he was predeceased by three brothers, Glenn, Porter, and Harper Corbett; three sisters, Hazel Nicley, Florence Gutshall, Barbara Carpenter; and a grandson, Shawn Corbett. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Botetourt Community Church of Daleville. He was a member of the Boone Lodge #247 AF & AM and a member of the Botetourt Chapter #135 O.E.S. He was retired from the Salem VA Medical Center. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Sarah Margaret German Corbett; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan C. and Spurgeon Vaughan of Troutville, Barbara C. and Bob Harold of Cloverdale; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Leslie and Annette Corbett of Martinsville, Arlie Andrew Corbett, Jr. and Terry Corbett of Crewe, Va.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dehlia C. Alexander of Great Falls, Va., Joy C. Cronk of Iron Gate, Va.; brother, L. W. Corbett of Troutville. Funeral services will be at the Oakey's East Chapel 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2001 with Pastor Ed Bailey and the Rev. Carl Goodman officiating. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Blue Ridge. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Building Fund of the Botetourt Community Church, 3178 Roanoke Rd., Daleville, Va. 24083 or the Troutville Rescue Squad, Troutville, Va. 24175. The family will receive friends at the Oakey's East Chapel, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m.
