Uncle Dan was born during a snow storm so bad the old country doctor couldn't make it to the house so my Grandad actually did the job. When the doctor finally did arrive afterwards Grandad ended up fixing him breakfast. Uncle Dan enlisted in the Coast Guard and served aboard the "Arthur E. Middleton" during WW11. Uncle Dan ran a "higgin's boat" and was in the South Pacific Campaign. He was serving in the Air Force as a Technical Sergeant in Berlin, Germany when he died. Uncle Dan was loved by all his nieces and nephews but never had children of his own. He was only 35 years old when he died.
