Grandad was the son of Silas E. Kemp and Minnie Delilah Lowry. Grandad was always self employed. He hauled timber. He had a business delivering coal around Vandalia. He and Grandmother owned two dairy farms before the Great Depression wiped him out. Every little kid in the neighborhood called him Grandad. I think he liked that. Rest in peace Grandad.
