East Peoria, IL - Bessie L. Womack, 79, of 115 W. Eden died at 2:15 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, in the emergency room at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
Born Dec. 18, 1923, in Golden Pond, Ky., to William McKinley and Myrtle Bratton Ahart, she married Robert Womack on Sept. 11, 1944, in Hopkinsville, Ky. He died Feb. 12, 1988, in East Peoria.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers and one infant sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Drema (and James ''Skip'') Hildebrand of East Peoria; one grandson, Chad Hildebrand of East Peoria, whom she helped raise; two brothers, the Rev. Johnnie (and Murl) Ahart of Cadiz, Ky., and Conley (and Dixie) Ahart of Tremont; and two sisters, Edna Vinson of East Peoria and Dorothy Fennell of Washington.
She had been an inspector at Burgette Golf Glove Co. in Peoria.
She was a member of Roland Manor Baptist Church in Washington.
Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery.
