East Peoria, IL - Edna Louise Vinson, age 87, of East Peoria passed away at 8:52 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at Manor Care-Riverview in East Peoria.
She was born Oct. 20, 1920, in Golden Pond, Ky., to William and Myrtle (Bratton) Ahart. She married Herbert Lester Vinson on July 8, 1939, in Dover, Tenn. He passed away on April 15, 1986, in Peoria.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include one sister, Dorothy Fennell of Washington; two brothers, Johnnie (Murl) Ahart of Cadiz, Ky., and Conley (Dixie) Ahart of Tremont; 11 nieces and nephews; 11 great-nieces and nephews; and 16 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Edna was an inspector for 43 years at Burgetts Golf/Glove Factory in Peoria, retiring in 1990.
She was of the Southern Baptist faith.
Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
