Funeral services for Edna M. Beachy Deason of McMinnville will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, at Bethel Baptist Church in McMinnville. The Rev. Harry Wilson will officiate.

Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 12, in the chapel at Macy & Son Funeral Directors. Private interment will be conducted at Green Crest Memorial Park Cemetery in Sheridan.

Mrs. Deason died at Hillside Village in McMinnville on Thursday, May 8, 2008. She was 86.

Born in Haviland, Kan., on May 1, 1922, she was the daughter of Jesse C. and Carrie (Roper) Amerine. She moved to Sheridan as a young girl.

She married Eli Beachy on Aug. 30, 1941, in Vancouver, Wash. He preceded in her in death in 1986.

She married Wayne Deason on June 23, 1988, in McMinnville. He died 2006.

She owned and operated Edna's Beauty Shop for 37 years, retiring in 2005. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

She loved Hawaii and traveled there 42 times with friends and family. She enjoyed gardening, playing piano, putting jigsaw puzzles together, going to the beach and watching the Chicago Cubs play baseball.

"She loved her church, family and sharing her faith," the family said.

Mrs. Deason is survived by a sister-in-law, Helen Amerine of Sheridan, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd and Marion Amerine, and four sisters, Emily Ellis, Vivian Crawford, Phebe Delker and Mary Smith.
