OBITUARY- "Lee County Times", Paw Paw, Lee Co., Illinos, Friday, July 9, 1886, page 5, Col. 1: "Jessee [sic] Beemer, who has been in poor health for a number of years, has at last succumbed to the fell destroyer and Monday, July 5, he quietly and peacefully passed away at the age of 72 years. The immediate cause of his death was a bad cold settling on his lungs already weakened by disease. He was born in Sussex County, N. Y. [sic-N.J.] and has resided this township since 1847. The funeral service was held at the Beemerville Church Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Schaible officiating and was attended by a large congregation of friends. The remains were buried in Ellsworth Cemetery."
