Obituary published in the Big Spring Herald on August 23, 2010:

Ola Melba Jackson, 86, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, August 22, 2010, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Mark Lindsey, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

Melba was born on April 11, 1924 in Crosby County, Texas and married Victor Lewis Jackson on September 26, 1941 in Mt. Blanco, Texas. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2007.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and retired from Webb Air Force Base as procurement clerk. After retirement, she got her real estate license and was an agent for over ten years.

Survivors include one son, Ricky Jackson and wife, Sue of Big Spring; one daughter, Louise Driver and husband, Charles of College Station; three sisters, Zella Harris, Loretta Reid, and Ava Mauldin all of Lubbock; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, LaVerne Waldrep.
