Randolph Scott, 73, well-known retired Waynesburg merchant for many years, died in his home, 596 East High street, at 9 p.m. Monday, August 25, 1952. Although Mr. Scott had been ill for several years, his death, caused by a heart attack, was very unexpected.

Active in the bakery and grocery business in Waynesburg for many years, Mr. Scott retired about 18 years ago.

A son of the late John and Elizabeth Rinehart Scott, the deceased was born May 30, 1879 in Franklin Township. He resided most of his life in Waynesburg and was a member of the First Methodist Church, B. P. O. E. Lodge No. 757, Waynesburg, and of the Greene County Chapter, sons of the American Revolution.

Mr. Scott's wife, Lucy Shiplet Frye Scott, preceded him in death two years ago. An adopted son, Earl Frye Scott, also is deceased.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Delilah Shriver of Waynesburg, and several nieces and nephews.
