Luella E. Meyer, 81, 212 Doorley Road, Cedarwood Commons, died at her daughter's residence at 3288 Sidney-Freyburg Road on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at 9:50 p.m. of natural causes.

She was born April 18, 1929, in Coldwater, the daughter of Edward and Alvina (Scheneking) Hamberg and they are deceased.

She was married to Richard E. Meyer on May 10, 1952, and he died in 1991.

Surviving are five daughters, Kathleen Richardson, of Sidney, Barb (Chris) Petty, of Sidney, Sondra (Steve) Wagner, of West Virginia, Elizabeth Steele, of Sidney, and Julie Golden and Keith Shelton, of Piqua; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Thelma Miller, of Dayton, Lavine Wendeln, of Kettering, and Joan Stammen, of New Bremen; and two brothers, Don Hamberg, of Houston, Texas, and Tom Hamberg, of Coldwater.

A son-in-law, Todd Steele; great-granddaughter, Jada Steele; and one sister and two brothers are deceased.

Luella was a 1947 graduate of Coldwater High School, Coldwater.

She was a homemaker.

She was an avid reader and loved to play with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She had been a volunteer at the Kid's Learning Place in Sidney.

She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney and was a member of the Altar Rosary Sodality at the church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with the Rev. Dan Schmitmeyer officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.

Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
