JOAN M. STAMMEN, 80, of New Bremen died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 3:40 P.M. at the Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster, OH. She was born March 20, 1934 in Coldwater, OH, the daughter of Edward and Alvina (Schenking) Hamberg. On July 4, 1957 she married Maurice Stammen who preceded her in death on August 13, 2012.
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Patricia Hamberg of Coldwater, her in-laws Dolores Robbins of Celina, Harold and Irene Stammen of New Bremen and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Catherine Hamberg, Thelma Miller, Lavine Wendeln, Ralph Hamberg, Luella Meyer and Donald Hamberg.
Joan was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen. She was a homemaker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen with Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial will follow at the German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.
The family will receive friends on Saturday January 24, 2015 from 9 until 10 A.M. at the church at which time the Rosary will be prayed. Memorial contributions can be made to the church memorial fund. Condolences to the Stammen family may be left at gilberghartwigfh.com.
