Willie was the son of William Christopher and Mary Ann Brakebill Kanatzar of KY. He married 1st Jessie Evelyn Merrill on March 1, 1920 in Columbia, Boone, MO. From this union were born five children: Howard Dale, Edward Lee, Wanda Louise, Mary Evelyn Minor and Joan Stephens. He married 2nd Grace Elizabeth Evans Watson-Angell on Feb 22, 1956 in Monroe Co, MO.

--W. C. Kanatzar Dies At Boone Co, Hospital--Willie Christopher Kanatzar, 68, a resident of Route 2, Centralia, died at 3:20 a. m. Monday at Boone County Hospital in Columbia, where he had been a patient for 10 days. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sturgeon Christian Church where he had membership. The Rev. James Jones officiated and burial was in Mt. Horeb Cemetery. Son of the late William and Mary Brakebill Kanatzar, he was born in Boone County Oct. 30, 1890. His first wife, the former Miss Jessie Merrell, died July 15, 1946. He was married on Feb. 22, 1956, to Mrs. Grace Angell, who survives. Other survivors include a son, H. D. Kanatzar, Moberly; three daughters, Miss Wanda Kanatzar, Mrs. Mary Minor and Mrs. Joan Stephens, all of Sturgeon; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Palmer, Mrs. Gertie Barnes, Sturgeon, Mrs. Stella Greeno, Mexico; one stepson, Howard Watson, Kingfisher, Okla; one stepdaughter, Miss Mary Adeline Watson, Honolulu, Hawaii; also 5 grandchildren, Preceding him in death were a son, two brothers and four sisters. Meador Funeral Home in Sturgeon had charge of arrangements.
