Franklyn conducted the Messiah Choir for 25 years and was founder and former conductor of the Independence Community Music Association. He was a high priest in the RLDS church having served as a member of the standing high council. Franklyn was the church music director from 1944 to 1969. He and his wife Doris had two children F. Clair & Eleanor. His father, wife, brother & sisters are also buried in Mound Grove.
