Rosenberg Herald, August 6, 1943:

Funeral services for George E. Aylor were held at the Foerster Funeral Home in Rosenberg, Saturday afternoon, July 31, 1943, at 1:30 o'clock and at the grave in the Orchard Cemetery at 2:30 o'clock. Services were conducted in the presence of a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends by Rev. C.H. Phifer of Wallis.

Interment took place in the Orchard Cemetery. The following served as pallbearers: John Losack, Raymond Chachere, Joe Hede, Emil Grunwald, C.A. Canfield, and Joe Gajovky. The Foerster Funeral Home of Rosenberg had charge of funeral arrangements.

Mr. Aylor was born at Webb City, Mo., on September 26, 1883 and passed away July 29, 1943 at 4:35 a.m., following a short illness. He had been a resident of Fort Bend County since 1893, during which time he was engaged in farming. Mr. Aylor was a pioneer resident of Orchard but was highly esteemed throughout the county where he was well-known to a host of people. He was of a friendly disposition and made friends easily. He was a true and loyal husband, father, and friend, and he will be sadly missed from the walk of life.

Deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maud Aylor; four daughters, Mrs. Bernice Frey of Waco and Misses Colleen, Glena Ruth, and Joyce Marie of Orchard; eight sons, Geo. H. Aylor of California, James W. Aylor, Memphis, Tenn., Ensign Ralph Aylor, U.S.N., Raymond W. Aylor, U.S. Army, Edison Lee Aylor and Leonard E. Aylor of Houston, and Warren H. Aylor, U.S.A., Australia. One son preceded him in death. He is also survived by four sisters, Mrs. Ida M. Tuthill of Washington, Mrs. Ruth A. Campbell of Devine, Mrs. Gladys V. Wooster of Alvin, and Mrs. Rose A. Johnson of Orchard; three brothers, Tom S. Aylor of San Saba, Sam E. Aylor and Felix Aylor, both of Orchard; and seven grandchildren.
