Rosenberg Herald, September 12, 1947:

Raymond W. Aylor of Orchard died in the Veterans Hospital in Houston Thursday. He was 33 years old and a veteran of the campaigns in North Africa and Italy. He was buried in the Orchard Cemetery Saturday with members of the Rosenberg Post Veterans of Foreign Wars acting as pallbearers. The pastor of the West End Baptist Church in Houston preached the funeral sermon.

He was born in Orchard and, except for his army service and a short period in New Mexico, had spent his entire life here.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Maude E. Aylor of Houston; four sisters, Mrs. Ivan Frey of Greenville, South Carolina, Mrs. John Allen and Misses Glena and Joyce Aylor of Houston; seven brothers, Geo. H. Aylor of Richvale, California, Lt. Ralph D. Aylor of the U.S. Navy, Preston H. Aylor, Edison L. Aylor, and Warren Aylor of Houston, J. Wesley Aylor of Memphis, Tenn., and Leonard Aylor of San Antonio.
