Thelma B. Tester, 84, Kendallville, a former resident of Geneva, died Saturday evening at Byron Health Center, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Tester was the owner of the former Cardinal Inn in Geneva and was manager of the Gene Stratton Porter Home there. She had also worked at the Decatur Hospital, CTS of Berne, and Nussbaum Novelty in Berne.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene at Kendallville.
Born June 18, 1907, in Rockford, Ohio, she was the daughter of Charles A. and Nellie (McGough) Branstetter. She was married Dec., 1925, to Walter D. Tester, and he died in 1975.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Margie) Sweeney, Rome City; two sons, Jerry Tester, Buena Park, Calif., and Bill Tester, LaGrange; three brothers, Richard H. Branstetter, Geneva, Charles Branstetter, Jr., Florida and Lester Branstetter, Decatur; six sisters, Mrs. Vernon (Creva) Bollenbacher, Mrs. Eugene (Deloris "Fat") Caffee, Mrs. Glen (Garni) Bollenbacher, and Mrs. Donald (Betty) Haviland, all of Geneva, Mrs. Chester (Wilma) Geade and Mrs. Victor (Freda) Bryie, both of Fort Wayne; five
grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services are set for 10 am Tuesday in the Downing Funeral Home, Geneva, with Ken Purdue officiating.
Burial will be in the MRE Cemetery at Berne.
