From 1945 newspaper obituary:
"... She was married to Charles Edwin Bowers March 1, 1896 and 6 children were born (Zora, Nellie, Jess, Ellis, Ruby, and Eldon). One child (Zora) died in 1937, and her husband died in 1941. Surviving are Mrs. Nellie Parsons of Liberal, Jess Bowers of Junction City, Ellis Bowers of Abilene, Mrs. Ruby Smith of Ogden and Eldon Bowers of the US Navy.
She spent the early part of her life in Missouri, coming to Kansas thirty years ago.
It was like a dream, how sad it seems
But they say God knows best, so he took her away
And he took her to stay, in that beautiful mansion of rest..."
