DECATUR DAILY - March 12, 2007

Funeral for Mildred Stephenson, 86, of Decatur will be Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenny Baskins and the Rev. Randy VanLanding ham officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Stephenson, who died Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Sunbridge Nursing Home, was born April 21, 1920, in Decatur to Tennis Sparkman and Annis Wallace Sparkman. She lived in Decatur all her life and was a lifetime member of the Ninth Street Methodist Church, where she received the Lifetime Methodist Women's Pin. Her husband, Otha Elton Stephenson, preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Ray Stephenson and wife, Janice, of Harvest, and Stewart Stephenson and wife, Donna, of Decatur; one daughter, Gayle Aycock and husband, Thomas, of Decatur; one sister, Ruth Butler of Decatur; seven grandchildren, David Stephenson, Laura Johnson, Wes Stephenson, Kristi Aycock, Daniel Aycock, Brad Aycock and Emily Aycock; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Wes Stephenson, David Stephenson, Brad Aycock, Daniel Aycock, Donnie Reeder and John Reeder.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ninth Street Methodist Church Choir Fund, or to the Alzheimer's Programs, Mental Health Association in Morgan County, P.O. Box 1502, Decatur, AL 35602.
