Alfred Tennyson (Fred) Davis, Sr., of Route 2, passed away Wednesday, December 10, at 8:30 a.m. at Chambers County Hospital following a long illness.
A well known farmer, Mr. Davis was born in Chambers County on December 14, 1892. He was a member of East Liberty Baptist Association Board of Directors.
Funeral services will be held at Rock Springs Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, on Thursday, December 11 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ed Noel and Rev. B. B. McGinty officiating. Interment will be in Rock Springs Cemetery with Johnson & Sanders in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bessie Lee Farr Davis of LaFayette Route 2; two daughters, Mrs. Luther S. Turner, West Point, GA, and Mrs. Harold Shirley, Winston-Salem, NC; a son, Alfred Tennyson Davis, Jr., Sanford, FL; a brother, E. K. Davis, LaFayette Route 2; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers were deacons of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
