THE PARIS NEWS Fri., Jan. 16, 1948: “Death of John N. Jordan, 65, occurred at home, 540-19th SW, Friday about 5:30 a.m. after a long illness. A retired farmer, he lived in the Minter community before moving to Paris 18 years ago. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. John W. Morphis of Garrett Memorial Methodist Church, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Juarez Jordan, Bogata; Sam Jordan, R. D. Jordan and Rody Rook Jordan of Paris; John Paul Hunt, of Clarksville and Morse Jordan of Minter. Surviving are Mrs. Jordan and these children: Mrs. J. Winfield Scott, John C. Jordan, Mrs. Velma Christian and Mrs. Jack Redus, of Paris; Harold Jordan of Hot Springs, AR.; and Mrs. Harry S. Short of Greenville, besides four brothers and four sisters. Mr. Jordan was born 9 Aug 1882 in Lexington, Ky., soon of the late Mr. & Mrs. Samuel Jordan. He married Miss Addie Lee Ring, Nov. 11, 1908.”

Death certificate states that John Needham Jordan was born in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee. His entire family came from TN around 190
