THE PARIS NEWS, Feb. 10, 2008: "Theda Joyce Jordan Short, 81, of Paris died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at Legend Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Sharon Clepper officiating. Burial follows in Evergreen Cemetery. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. The family receives friend from 6-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. She was born Oct. 7, 1926, in the Minter community of Lamar County, a daughter of John Needum and Addie Lee Ring Jordan. She attended Paris schools, graduating from Paris High School in 1944. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Gleaners Bible Club. She married Harry Hammond Short on Dec. 14, 1947, at First United Methodist Church in Paris. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1983. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Jordan and John Jordan; and three sisters, Velma Christian, Robbie Redus, and Dorothy Scott. Surviving are a son, Dr. Stephen Short and wife, Delana, of Kerrville; a daughter, Julie Millsaps and husband, Douglas, of New Braunfels; six grandchildren, Timothy Price of Wuhan, China, Elizabeth Gutierrez and husband, Aaron, of Bixby, Okla., Stephen H. Short, of Kerrville, Forrest Short, of Lubbock, Lauren Millsaps and Elise Millsaps, of Braunfels; and numerous nieces and nephews.
