Gould was about 11 years of age. The 1910 U.S. Federal Census for Phoebe Conley Hanks tells us she was living on Maple Street, Neoga, Cumberland, Illinois with her husband, Thomas P. Hanks, along with her daughter, Alice Hanks, who was born on January 13, 1909. Her brother, Gould Conley was also living in the household. Phoebe died on July 8, 1914 after a prolonged illness of tuberculosis. Thomas Price Hanks was 67 years of age, with a daughter of his own about the age of 5 or 6. Icy Conley Young [sister of Phoebe and Gould], lived in Neoga with her husband, Ulysses Grant Young. She had four children of her own to care for [ages: 8, 6, 4, and 1 month]. Icy was still getting over the loss of a child on September 22, 1913, at the age of 6 months and 28 days. She also had a four year old that required special needs.
