The Sac Sun - Thursday , April 26th, 1928 - Warner J Benson, 72 years of age, an old high respected citizen of this community, died at his farm home south of town on Thursday, April 19, (missing words). Funeral service was held 2. Burial was made in the Sac City cemetery. Pall bearers were D J Fulcher, Clement, Will and Elmer Venzke, Earl Simpson, and Earl Olmstead.
Mr Benson was born August 26, 1866 in Chicago and while a small child moved with his parents to Sycamore, IL. He came to the state of Iowa during the year 1875 and engaged in farming in the Wall Lake vicinity.
A few years later he returned to Chicago where he was married to Mary J Duck and they came on their wedding trip to Sac county and began housekeeping on a farm south of Early. One son, Floyd of Devils Lake, ND was born to this union, who with the aged wife survives.
Mr Benson was stricken with paralysis last December and since that time his condition has been regarded as serious.
Besides his wife and son he is survived by 8 grandchildren, two sisters: Mrs Clara Cass and Mrs Pearl Hinkle of Sycamore, IL and a brother Charles of Oklahoma.
