Mary Elizabeth Neel/Neal, who first married John Milton Short in Claiborne Parish, LA. John died in the Civil War, leaving Mary with a daughter,Theodocia Short. Mary then married John Short's cousin Eppy/Eppa Wariner. Her sister Emma Neel/Neal married John Short's brother Young Short. The families moved to Texas after the War, first to Grayson, then to Wise and then to Denton counties. Young Short died in Grayson Co in 1884. I do not know what happened to his wife Emma. Their daughter Clara Short married Albert Bruce in Grayson Co; they moved off to Donley County.Eppa Wariner died in Fort Worth in 1905. His widow Mary moved to live with her niece Clara Bruce in Clarendon, and died there. Eppa and Mary Wariner had a number of children; none seem to have survived them.
