The funeral for Annie Ruth Barnes Bonnette Gray, 70, of 236 Orangeburg Manor,
Orangeburg, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at First Church of
the Nazarene, Orangeburg, with the Rev. Bobby Morris and the Rev. G. W. Harrell
officiating. Burial will be in Bowman Memorial Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Barnes, Larry Myers, Edward Barnes, Johnny
Morris, Terry Morris, Steve Morris and Junior Haddock.
Honorary pallbearers will be the senior adult Sunday school class and her
dearest friends.
The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service.
She died Sunday, April 20 at her residence.
She was born Nov. 16, 1932, in Orangeburg, the daughter of the late Aldrich
Barnes Sr. and the late Gussie Jernigan Barnes. She was a member of First Church
of Nazarene and a member of the senior adult Sunday school class. She was
retired from Greenwood Mills and was a former employee of Bozard's Sandwich
Shop. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior Barnes and Marion
Barnes, and a sister, Louise Judy.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Deborah Kittrell of Orangeburg,
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. (Sherry) Sanford of Orangeburg; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Michael and Lynne Bonnette of Orangeburg, Harold and Trisha
Bonnette of Orangeburg; a very special friend, Relie Barkley of Sumter; two
sisters, Mrs. McKeithan (Mae) Haddock of Orangeburg and Mrs. Bobby (Betty Jean)
Morris of Sumter; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Archie and Dee Barnes of
Orlando, Fla.; Mannie and Carolyn Barnes of Bowman; brother-in-law, Wilson Judy
of Lawrenceville, Ga.; sister-in-law, Mrs. Anna Barnes of Wolfton; 13
grandchildren, Laurie and J. J. Kittrell, Currie Corder, Samantha Gunnells,
Shane and Austin Sanford, Nathaniel Young, Angel, Ashley, J.R. and Jeremy
Bonnette, Joshua and Jesse Pensel; seven great-grandchildren, and a number of
nieces and nephews.
