Funeral services for Mr. Eugene "Bubba" Kinard Kemmerlin Jr., 70, of 925 Whaley St., Orangeburg will be held 3 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg. The Rev. Bobby Morris will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg.
Active pallbearers will be Ben Napps, Larry McAlhaney, Mike Bonnette, Floyd Phillips, Hal Axson and Shane Sanford.
Mr. Kemmerlin died Tuesday at Roper St. Francis Hospital in Charleston.
He was born December 6, 1938 in Orangeburg, the son of the late Eugene K. Kemmerlin Sr. and the late Gussie Cherry Kemmerlin Smoak. He was a retired from Security Forces. He was the widower of the late Annie Ruth Kemmerlin. He was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Smoak and by a sister, Mary Lee Adicks; and by Mattie Ruth Kemmerlin (Melanie's mother).
Survivors included two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Thomas "T.C." Sanford of Cordova, Melanie and Larry McAlhaney of Cottageville; stepchildren, Debbie Kittrell, Mike Bonnette and Harold Bonnette all of Orangeburg; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Mrs. Monroe (Louise) Berry of Orangeburg, Lou Esther Browning and Woody Williams of Elloree, Nell Huiett and Peggy Halter both of Orangeburg, Nancy New of Canaan Community, Betty Ray Vandevort of Orangeburg; one brother, Mike Kemmerlin of Orangeburg; special friend, Janice Goodman of Orangeburg; and a number of grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
