JOHN D. SHADWELL

Grave side services for John D. Shadwell, 79, of St. James, formerly of Hannibal, was held Friday at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Paris. The Rev. Gary Douglas officiated.

Mr. Shadwell died Nov. 5, 1992 at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James.

He was born October 13, 1913, in Paris to Edgar and Elizabeth Shadwell. He was married to Sylvia Sector on September 15, 1967. She died on June 27, 1983.

Survivors include two sons, John D. Shadwell II and William P. Shadwell of Hannibal; one daughter Tresea Dowen of Hannibal; one brother, Joe Shadwell of Paris; six sisters, Jean Chapman, Enid Crimm, Faye Smith and Erma Lee Shuck of Hannibal, and Vera McCullen and Madge Nordlund of Paris; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Shadwell was a retired truck driver. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was a member of the Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post 55.
