Mrs. Zora Denning Fowler, 61 of 1265 Houston St., died Monday morning at her home of an apparent stroke. She was the wife of John Leland Fowler.
Mrs. Fowler was born Feb. 8, 1913, at Ammon, a daughter of Phillip Merrifield and Mary Ann Ashdown Denning. She grew up and attended schools in Ammon and Bountiful, Utah. She was married to John Leland Fowler Nov. 10, 1934, at Idaho Falls. She worked for the Idaho Potato Growers. She was a member of the LDS Church where she had served as secretary of the Primary and as a visiting teacher and was active in Relief Society. She had worked with the Red Cross and other organizations raising funds.
She is survived by her husband of Idaho Falls; a son John (Pat) Fowler; three daughters, Mrs. Jack (Connie) Gohr and Mrs. Lee (Sharon) Jackson, both of Menan, and Mrs. George (Maxine) Baker of Pocatello; 19 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Null of Rexburg, Mrs. Irene Lewis of Bountiful, Utah, and Mrs. Walter (Carole) Windmiller of Grant; three brothers, Warren Denning and Lawrence Denning, both of Ammon, and Ude Denning of Bonners Ferry. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Idaho Falls 30th Ward with Bishop Mervin Gardner officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Wood Funeral home, Idaho Falls, and Thursday one hour prior to the time of services at the church. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
