Their only daughter lived 19 days, died on January 22, 1878, and was buried in Bethel Union Church Cemetery. Their six sons lived to become adults: Randolph Millard; Gordon I; Everett Earl; Arthur E; Nolan William and Leamon

He married Laura H. Williams on 23 Aug 1911 in Versailles, Morgan County, Missouri. When Leamon married Laura, Ella Dorrance signed the wedding license giving her consent to the marriage since Leamon was not twenty-one years of age.
