MRS. M. R. MITCHELL
Mrs. M. R. Mitchell passed away at her home in Lucas, Iowa, on May 11, 1931, at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 15 days, after an illness of about a week with pneumonia.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Ed. Parker, of Milo, were held at the M. E. church in Lucas on Wednesday afternoon, after which interment took place in the Fry Hill cemetery.
Medora Caroline Mead, daughter of A. P. and Margaret Mead, was born on December 26, 1845. She was united in marriage to Morris Mitchell on September 28, 1864. To this union eight children were born, three sons and five daughters. One son and two daughters preceded their mother in death.
Those left to mourn their great loss are her husband and the following children: Mrs. Grace Leeny, of San Bernardino, California; Add Mitchell, of Williamson; Mrs. Florence Garber, of Fairfield; Marion Mitchell and Mrs. Will John, of Lucas.
A sister, Mrs. Adah Carrigan, of Pasadena, California, is also living, as well as a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
