MRS. ETHEL BOWMAN
Ethel I. Adcock was born in Wayne township, Monroe county, Iowa, June 13, 1884, where she resided with her parents until 1900, when she, with her parents, came to Chariton.
She was united in marriage to Guy L. Bowman, Jan. 15, 1902. They resided in Monroe county until three years ago. They then moved to their farm four miles southwest of Chariton, where they resided until she passed away August 3, 1912, after a short illness.
She leaves to mourn her loss a loving husband, one daughter, Lillie, aged 8 years and one son, Glen, aged 6 years; a father and mother, four brothers, John Adcock, of Chariton, Elmer Adcock, of Monroe county, Oliver Adcock, of Sentinel Butte, N. D., Delmar Adcock, of Cedar township; four sisters, Mrs. Jen Chambers, of Cheyenne, Wyo., Mrs. Retta Esshom, of Chariton, Mrs. Eva Jones, of Osceola, and Mrs. Rosa Foutch, of Russell.
She was converted and joined the U. B. church of Wayne township when twelve years old, of which church she remained a member till her death. She was always cheerful and pleasant, having a smile for everyone.
The funeral was held at the United Brethren church of Chariton, conducted by Rev. Geo. J. Cornford of Russell, her pastor.
