She was the daughter of John Henry Mattingly (1862-1944) and his wife Elizabeth Anne, nee Aull (1867-1951).

She was baptized at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Daviess County, Kentucky on July 17, 1895. Her godmother was Margaret Aull. Reverend Oscar Pacific Ackerman officiated.

Ora married Frank A. Dittman on June 4, 1917 in Daviess County, Kentucky.

Her death certificate listed her cause of death as chronic myocarditis, of 10 years duration. Under "Due to" was listed epilepsy, 20 or 30 years since onset and fracture of the left hip, onset 1 week. She had fallen on the floor. Death was due to an accident. She had an operation for the hip fracture the day she died.

She was buried in St. Michael Cemetery, Louisville, on January 23, 1951.
