James was the 6th of 8 living children of Nathaniel and Elizabeth (Boon) Monticue.

James was the son who stayed at home with the parents. He was the heir of his father's goods according to Nathaniel's will valued at $350 on the 1860 census and was at the home still with his mother in 1870 (after his father died ) in Marion twp, Beaver County, PA which is the last census she was listed on. By then James would have been in his early 40's and I have found no more evidence of him. He died between 1870 and 1880.
