Evidence for the marriage of Sarah Monticue to John Nichols is found in the Justice of the Peace Docket of Martin Luther Fausold of Mt. Pleasant twp, Lycippus, Westmoreland Co., PA copied by Priscilla Fausold Weir, August, 1981. The original book now is possessed by Martin Luther Fausold of Genesee, NY and Priscilla's copy was added to a booklet called "Marriage and Death Notices from Newspapers, 1808-1921, of Westmoreland County" by Agnes Campbell Tomichek and compiled by Mary Jane Mains. I found the booklet at the University of Wisconsin Historical Society under PAM 90-3194.
August the 15th, 1839--married John Nicolls to Miss Sarah Montecue (at Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland Co)
Children are found in the 1880 census for Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland County and 1900 Donegal twp., Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania and from 1900 and from Nicholls Family Bible.
Sarah's husband, John S. Nichols (1816-27 Sept 1864) died in the Civil War. They had 7 children: James Oliver Nichols, Catherine Nichols, WIlliam Nichols, John Nichols, Mary "Polly" Nichols, Samuel Monticue Nichols and Margaret Nichols.
In the 1870 census Sarah was a widow and keeping house for an elderly widower, Mr. John Snively. Before the 1880 census, she married to Mr. John Snively..
