Evelyn's family moved from Maine in 1868, spent two years in Illinois and then settled in Sac County, Iowa. She married Henry J. Mooney on June 06, 1886 in Iowa and they eventually moved to Cowlitz County, Washington. Their sons Eldred and John were born in Iowa.
Sometime after the move to Washington, Henry and Evelyn divorced. She married John "Jack" Clarence Patton on August 06, 1902. Jack died October 15, 1915. Together they had one daughter, Faye Evelyn born January 20, 1904.
